Study medicine at Jagiellonian University Medical College

The first part of the six year degree covers essential science courses and communication with patients in Polish. The latter part of the course includes clinical experience. The degree is interdisciplinary with focuses such as cardiovascular disease prevention, reproductive health, socio-economic factors affecting health and immunology issues. There is also a four year degree which is for students who hold pre-medical qualifications such as Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject. Classes are run in small groups and follow the European and American standards which allows students to be in regular contact with patients and teachers. The degree holds international recognition with many graduates going on to work in Canada, the UK, the US and Australia.

Krakow is home to the world’s first UNESCO world heritage site and it’s easy to see why. With fascinating historical monuments such as Castle Wawel, a 16th century market hall and a whole host of museums the city is bursting with cultural and historical significance. Known for its academic, cultural and artistic reputation, the Jagiellonian library is considered an important resource within the city. This city was the royal capital of Poland until 1596 and more recently the European capital of Culture in 2000. Since its conception, the University has had a diverse student population and the head of the medical school council has said, ‘we like to see our School as an environment integrating people from different cultural backgrounds.’
